All good video content needs to tell a story, and I impart this philosophy into every video I make.
My name is Emily Narrow and I am video producer and editor whose work focuses on science, nature, technology, and the outdoors. With over 17 years of experience in video production and editing, I bring a strong background in crafting compelling narratives for diverse audiences. My goal is to make multimedia content that is informative, educational, and entertaining – and which ultimately inspires viewers to strengthen their own relationship with the natural world.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College where I double-majored in Biology and Cinema Studies. I later completed my Master of Fine Arts degree in Science and Natural History Filmmaking from Montana State University. My educational experiences have provided me with unique insight into effective science communication and storytelling.
As Post-Production Supervisor for OutdoorClass, a hunting video e-learning platform, I was responsible for product quality assurance of all deliverables. As a Video Editor, I edited over 50 video chapters for various educational modules, as well as sizzle trailers and multimedia assets for organic social media distribution. My employment first at GOHUNT, and then at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for the OutdoorClass platform required me to manage and execute creative projects, while having a high attention to detail.
I also worked for many years for the Global Foundation for Ocean Exploration (GFOE) – not only onboard the NOAA ship Okeanos Explorer on twelve different expeditions as a camera operator, video producer, and video editor – but also shoreside on various video & social media products highlighting GFOE’s scientific work in marine & aquatic environments.
Additionally as a Web Video Post Producer at Zero Point Zero Productions for their flagship hunting show MeatEater, I oversaw and managed the “MeatEater Guide To Hunting, Fishing And the Outdoors” web video series. In total I produced and edited 78 short instructional videos about hunting and camping for the MeatEater brand.
My career has also included work over the years for various clients, such as the National Park Service, Montana State University, and VisionHawk Films.
I currently reside in Bozeman, Montana.
